R.E.A.D.I. Rape Education And Defense Instruction The R.E.A.D.I.* seminar is available to students, families and individuals, and covers the very serious subject of sexual assault. It's intent is to provide participants with crucial information, elevate awareness, and provide them with knowledge to maintain their safety and to defend themselves if required R.E.A.D.I. will cover the following topics Situational Awareness Home Security Date Safety Assault Dynamics Mental and Verbal Abusers Self-Defense Techniques Psychological impact of assaults Personal Boundaries Confidence Development What should I bring? comfortable workout shoes athletic/workout clothes (physical activity is part of the curriculum) sack lunch spiral notebook and pen promptness (we will start on time) How much is the seminar? Participant fees are very affordable, and based on number of class attendees – group discounts apply! Seminars are scheduled as requested by any particular group, club, or organization. Is there a sign-up deadline? Yes, pre-registration is required, and the deadline is November 3rd! You must pay fee prior to seminar When is the seminar? Typically held on Saturday mornings from 10:00am to 2:30pm, with a half-hour lunch break at 12:30 Seminar will be held at the Cedar Rapids Karate Institute. Contact us for the next available dates. A Certified Women's Safety Instructor, 3rd Degree Black Belt and self-defense expert with 24 years experience I have questions about the seminar. Who can I contact?
